World Renowned Martial Arts Expert Makes Unprecedented
Sacramento Appearance

International Movie Star Jackie Chan
Leaps into Action for Asian Pacific American

What: Actor to highlight the Annual International Leadership Awards dinner co-sponsored by the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) and California Chinese E-Resources, a non-profit corporation linking the local Asian American community via the internet.
Why: The event will raise funds to provide scholarships for Asian Pacific American youth to serve internships in public service and international affairs. Currently, the ILF sponsors six college students working as summer interns at the State Capitol.
Jackie Chan will present a special courage award on behalf of the ILF to Lina Li, a young actress who is in Sacramento recovering from serious burns from a fire during a performance in her native China.
Who: Jackie Chan, star of Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon and other top-grossing movies; he will receive lifetime achievement honor and awards from City of Sacramento and State of California recognizing him as an "International Ambassador of Goodwill" for inspiring Asian Pacific American youth Jimmie Yee, Sacramento Mayor, Event Honorary Chair Bill Jones, California Secretary of State, Keynote Speaker David Lee, University of California Regent C.C.
