Dear Friends,

We are pleased to invite you to join us for the Annual International Leadership Awards dinner at 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 21, 2000 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sacramento.  Our special guest and lifetime achievement award honoree will be Jackie Chan, the international star of such movies as Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon. Mr. Chan will also receive awards from the City of Sacramento and the State of California.

Sacramento Mayor Jimmie Yee will serve as the Honorary Chairperson of the event and California Secretary of State Bill Jones will be the keynote speaker. Other honorees will include Sacramento's Fat Family, in memory of Frank & Mary Fat; C.C. Yin, owner of Yin McDonald's; and David Lee, of the UC Board of Regents.  A special courage award will be presented to Miss Lina Li, a young actress who is in Sacramento recovering from serious burns she received in a fire during a performance in her native China.

The awards dinner is hosted by the International Leadership Foundation and by California Chinese e-Resources Inc.  The event will raise funds to provide scholarships for Asian American youth to serve fellowships in public service and international affairs. This year's class of ILF fellows will also be recognized at the dinner.

This event will bring international attention to Sacramento. We hope you will be able to help us promote our city, and help these deserving students. We would be delighted to introduce you as a major sponsor of this event. Enclosed you will find detailed information outlining the available sponsorship packages and a flyer for the International Leadership Awards Dinner. We look forward to hearing that you, your business, or your community organization will be a sponsor of the awards dinner. Contributions are tax deductible. Please call 916/683-9368 for further information. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
